Sheridan Fire's Spree of Giving
Sheridan, OR [December 7, 2016]: Each year the Sheridan Fire District Volunteers participate in the Sheridan Tree of Giving program. The Sheridan Fire District Volunteer Association has supported the Tree of giving for over five years, picking up anywhere from five to fifteen tags from the tree. This year the volunteer firefighters, with the help of a large monetary donation by the Sheridan FCI Inmates, were able to go above and beyond to make this Christmas special for 35 children in our community. It was a sight to see as our volunteers made their way through the Dallas Walmart on a mission to find the perfect gifts to warm the hearts of children. The Dallas Walmart had a cashier set aside and shopping carts at the ready. As the morning wrapped up, baskets full and smiles all around, the crew returned to Sheridan to sort and re-bag the gifts. It was a sight to see as all the gifts, in their bags being brought into All Foiled Up. As they were putting their gifts under the tree more tags needing filled were picked up to bring the total to 45 tags worth of toys and clothing and goodies.
The Sheridan Fire District Volunteer Association would like to thank the Inmates at Sheridan FCI for their generous donation, All Foiled up, Walmart and our community for supporting the Tree of Giving program. We look forward to helping again next year.
