At 1:40 AM Sheridan Fire District and Yamhill County Sheriff's Office were dispatched on a possible drowning/water rescue at the green bridge near the intersection of N Bridge St and Main St. Upon arrival crews were informed a male in his twenties had jumped/fallen from the bridge and landed in the water. Crews from Sheridan Fire District, Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Polk County Sheriff's Office, and Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue's Water Rescue team searched the river and shoreline for two hours but were unsuccessful at locating the individual.

This morning at daylight the search was restarted with two water rescue teams and Yamhill County Search and Rescue. Efforts are being coordinated by the Yamhill County Sheriff Office through the Sheridan Substation. There are two water rescue teams, search and rescue responders searching the shore and a helicopter has been called in to assist with the search. We are asking individuals to avoid going near the river or in the river while the search is in progress. All media and information inquiries can be directed to Captain Chris Ray from the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office (971 312-1088)
