Seismic Upgrade Construction moving forward towards completion! MAY 2022.

Hello, everyone! If you were not aware your Sheridan Fire District was awarded a seismic upgrade for our current building. This upgrade will be at zero cost to our community. The reason for the upgrade to an existing building is to meet or exceed the requirements for a public safety building's survivability in the unlikely event of a severe earthquake; this allows our personnel and equipment the best opportunity to serve those that will be in need after such a potentially devastating event.

Due to an unforeseen fire sprinkler system failure, the remodel is progressing slower than expected. After an extensive multi-phased evaluation, the best cost savings and the safest option will be to replace the entire sprinkler system. Like our community members, we too must also meet all fire and life safety codes to remain open and operating for you. The walls have been updated, the anchors have been placed throughout. The framing of the upstairs is completed. The original roof has been removed and the new roof installation has almost been completed. As with any recent construction project, we too are experiencing delays in material deliveries. We will continue to update you as we can on a change in our completion timeline. As of now, the completion date is slotted for the end of May 2022.

THERE WILL NOT BE A SERVICE INTERRUPTION DURING THE CONSTRUCTION. WE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO MEET EVERYONE'S NEEDS AS THEY MAY ARISE.

Thank you, everyone, for your support and patience.

Les Thomas, Fire Chief Sheridan Fire District
