We currently employ 6 full-time career staff with 1 Firefighter/Paramedics and 1 Firefighter/EMTs on one ALS ambulances scheduled each shift. They work a 48/96 rotation, 48 hours on shift with 96 hours off shift. We employee an additional 6 Firefighter/EMTs or Paramedics to fill scheduling gaps and assist with additional staffing demands during the fire season. A typical day on shift consists of station upkeep, EMS/Fire training, physical fitness, special project time, and running emergency calls.
Our administrative team includes the Fire Chief and an Office Administrator. In addition to taking care of administrative duties, one of our administrative staff is a paramedic and one is an EMT enabling us to staff a second ambulance as needed during business hours. The office is typically open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Our career staff works closely with our volunteers to staff the fire apparatus.
