September Update

May contain: tree, plant, nature, abies, fir, outdoors, and weather

September is a very busy month for the Sheridan Fire district with back to school safety and the upcoming pancake breakfast and Fire Med membership renewal.  In addition, the district was able to help provide support in fighting the Eagle Creek fire in the Columbia River Gorge.

I recently had the opportunity to lead a Yamhill County task force of four engines and a water tender in providing structure protection to homes being threatened by the Eagle Creek fire.  The task force included resources from Sheridan, Amity, Dayton, Yamhill and Tualatin Valley.  All task force members did a great job, worked hard and represented our area very well.  It was truly a pleasure to get to work with the Firefighters from each of the agencies.

Sheridan Fire District would like to remind everyone that school is back in session and that means we all need to be extra careful especially driving in school zones. Many of our students walk or ride bikes to school as well as the increased car and bus traffic on our streets. Stay alert and drive safe.

September means it’s time to renew or sign up for your Fire Med membership.  It also means it’s time for the fire district pancake breakfast, so join us for breakfast on September 24th and renew your Fire Med membership while you’re at the station.
